COLORED PENCIL PROJECT DESCRIPTIONS

Focus on Composition, Simple Depth, Color Mixing, Color Scheme

HOW WILL YOU BE GRADED?

• 4 practice sheets including value scales and 3/D sphere on white and colored paper / colored fruit 3/D value using only Y. R. B. / horizontal depth scape with borders, 100% color mixing, color scheme, 3D value
• 3 small sketches of your final ideas
• one on one TEACHER APPROVAL
• no smaller than 9x12 white or colored paper
• must have a planned COLOR SCHEME that communicates a feeling, mood or idea
• 3/D VALUE
• 2/3 of the paper must be covered with color OR less than 1/3 white space or it will be considered incomplete
• ALL -----100% of the color must be mixed color / use no color straight from the pencil

PROJECT CHOICES

1. redo the depth scape / no smaller than 9x12 white or colored paper / must have a specific plan / objects can be simple geometric objects or other realistic items such as trees, animals or objects / must use 3/D VALUE on the objects and they must get lighter as they go back in space / land forms must get lighter as they go back in space / must overlap objects once in each land form / must have a double border with 1 inch on the outside and ½ inch on the inside / border must enhance the image / 100% COLOR MIXED / 2/3 of the paper must be covered with color
2. 3, 5, or 7 object still life that you set up OR work from one of the set ups that I do / 9x12 white or colored paper / objects must fill 2/3 of the paper / composition must be appealing and balanced / must have at least three levels / you must approve the set up
3. 9x12 HORIZONTAL Federal Jr. Duck Stamp competition / YOU must read the contest rules and follow them....I will not be reading them for you and then telling you what to do / national 1^st prize is $5000.00, 2^nd $3000.00, 3^rd is $2000.00, conservation message is $500.00 Deadline March 15, 2010
